About the course
The Young Emergency Medicine Doctors Section of the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EuSEM) is pleased to present
EUSEM Refresher Course 8
A 4 day interactive course for young doctors training or practicing in all fields of emergency medicine and urgent care. The course is based on the European Curriculum of Emergency Medicine. This edition will be about:
“Mass casualty incidents (MCI) General approaches to management and special considerations.”
The topics will include :
The objective of this four day course is to provide participants with an up to date review of the most recent, clinically relevant, developments in research, therapy, and management of very common clinical situations.
Invited faculty are international well-known experts in their field. Different session formats including mini-symposia, workshops, round table discussions and practicals are included in the program. The goal of the teaching methodology is to favor as much as possible faculty-student interaction.
Please register early, space is limited to 40 participants. This course is intended for doctors below 35 years old.
This course will be held at the Faculty of political science and international relations UMB in Banská Bystrica for the first, the second and the last day. The 3rd day will be @ the training centre “Lest”.

Training Centre Lest – The base of field exercises:
Training Centre Lest was established to fulfill tasks related to national defence and security, implementing special training, medical support and health care mainly for special units of the Slovak Armed Forces and special executive units. Thus a military training ground of fields, woods, airstrip, houses and other buildings, mock-up villages, fire and chemical exercise field and more. It is situated appr. 60km from Branska Bystrica.
The training centre Lest, particularly in its Jakub Village, has a building with meeting rooms for the exercise organisation.
The official course language is English. It is expected that all participants can understand and express themselves in English.

We will provide detailed info on how to travel from Bratislava airport after registration.
